The Mobilitas Group has further developed its physical and electronic document management division with the acquisition of Pro Archives Systems, a leading French physical and electronic document management enterprise with 27 secure storage sites, 15 of which are approved for the preservation of public records. Pro Archives Systems had a turnover of 28 million euros in 2020 making it the leading medium-sized records management company in France and its overseas territories.
The Mobilitas Group is currently led by the third generation of the Taïeb and Castro families and has been active in French and international markets for close to 50 years.
A transformative acquisition
Mobilitas intends to invest some 200 million euros in developing this business worldwide making it an international player in physical and digital records management capable of competing with the best in the business.
In an interview for the French daily newspaper on 8 January 2021, Les Echos, Alain Taïeb, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Mobilitas Group, explained: “We have made this important acquisition for our family group because we are a logistics service provider in 97 countries with a range of complementary activities. We are not competing head-on with the cloud giants who are developing storage systems. Because before the documents can be stored there, there’s a range of classification, a whole bunch of filing that are required to aid retrieval. And we will work with these key players.
Meeting customers’ strategic needs
This acquisition helps the Group to meet the strategic objectives of corporate and governmental customers. Physical and digital records management is important to all types of business from SMEs to large international groups, the CAC40, and government departments.
Mobilitas currently has physical and digital records management activities in more than 50 countries throughout Europe, Asia and Africa. The Group is now a true partner to its 10,000 customers for the management of their business information day-to-day.
Alain Taïeb, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Mobilitas Group, is delighted with the new acquisition. “Today, with Pro Archives Systems, Mobilitas has become the French international champion that we wanted it to be.”
